Fresh orange juice is widely available throughout Morocco, and many families squeeze their own juice at home.

Fresh orange juice only takes a few minutes to prepare if you own a juicer. For a unique Moroccan taste, add a splash of orange flower water to the juice before serving.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • fresh, ripe juice oranges (approx. 1 lb. per person)
  • sugar, to taste (optional)
  • orange flower water (optional)

Preparation:

Wash the juice oranges and cut them in half. Squeeze the oranges by hand or with a juicer.

If the juice is not very sweet, add sugar to taste. For traditional Moroccan flavor, stir in a small amount (about 1/2 teaspoon per glass) of orange flower water.

Serve the orange juice room temperature, chilled, or over ice.
